The balanced half: The dark reality of having mixed babies
Mix babies are a joy. In a way, they are a summoning from two worlds.I know a summoning sounds like magic and oujia boards. But that’s exactly what it means to make babies. We think of babies like we think of food, Rice and chicken makes a meal. Sperm meets egg, a baby is born. But……

Mix babies are a joy. In a way, they are a summoning from two worlds.
I know a summoning sounds like magic and oujia boards. But that’s exactly what it means to make babies.
We think of babies like we think of food, Rice and chicken makes a meal.
Sperm meets egg, a baby is born.
But…
it’s much more than that.
When Life grows in a woman’s belly, It starts compiling code from two DNA trees: a careful selection of what it needs.
Once that is complete, a soul gets summoned to the mix.
Okay, we’ll stop there.
I think you get the point.
Birthing a child that comes from very diverse trees, is a thing of wonder. It’s exciting, it draws curiosity.
It’s like saying you found a way to cross avocados and mangoes. Everyone gets curious about the taste. is it more avocado? or mango. Maybe it’s a perfect blend of both.
These are the intrinsic joys that come with it.
Children are blessings after all. But we know how hard it is to raise a child.
For mixed kids, its even harder.
Think about this.
You’ve brought a child with a split identity from birth. Homogeneous kids struggle with identity issues, so imagine the plight of a mixed child.
They’re never fully accepted by any group. Even in the most welcoming homes, there’ll a little diffferential treatment.
Good or bad, the child will always see it as a consequence of their nature. Their mixed identity.
It’s like having a step kid. It doesn’t matter the love or discipline you mete, they’ll always feel out of place.
This is why you must be very intentional in their upbringing.
like with step kids, you’re not there to convince them you’re their dad.
Instead, you make it clear that you’ll never be their biological dad. However, you’ll always be there for them, you’ll always protect and provide for them.
They’re not your blood, but they’re your responsibility. Which makes you their father.
This truth would inspire more confidence in those kids, than any lie or delusion of paternity.
You have to do the same when raising a mixed child.
Don’t lie to them…
They’re not fully Japanese, neither are they fully Jamaican. they’ll always be treated as special foreigners, and it’s okay.
They exist between worlds, and are a product of a love that came from those worlds.
accepting this truth would make them bulletproof to attacks on their identity.
But if they’re neither Japanese nor Jamaican, what’s their identity then.
The better question is; what is the identity of a mixed child.
A mixed child doesn’t get the luxury of ethnicity (at least when it comes to the big leagues).
Just like an African is labeled by his race or Nationality, instead of his ethnicity, which might be (Akan, Hausa, Yoruba, etc.)
For mixed people, the labels are even stronger. They’re identified by the mixes of their race. no one cares about their nationality or ethnicity.
Circle back to the avocado and mango example.
There are different kinds of mangoes and avocadoes.
They might be the same fruit or vegetable, but they do not taste the same.
Sometimes they don’t even look the same.
But when I spoke about a mango and avocado mix, you didn’t bother to think about what kind of mangoes and avocadoes were mixed.
You just created a mashup of their average tastes in your mouth.
Cause the concept of avocadoes and mangoes getting mixed is much stronger than their individual variants.
The concept is so strong that, it could be its own fruit. It welds enough star power to exist on its own.
In that sense, we can consider mixed people as a different race.
Yes, they are a mix, but a different race still.
It’s Just like mixing two colors to get a different one.
When you start seeing mixed people as a different race, you begin to understand the importance of balance.
It goes without saying that every human should be balanced, it’s not exclusive to mixed people.
But I already explained how imbalance is almost a feature in a mixed child.
They have issues with their identity.
They might detest one half of their mix, sometimes both.
Which is understandable. They are different after all.
But in most cases, a mixed child would favor one half over the other.
Which is again, understandable.
When I say balance, you might imagine I mean for them to love both sides equally. Or have a demeanor that is exactly half of their mix.
That’ll be a fun way to look at it, but thats not what it means to be balanced.
Not in this case.
The way I see it, balance would be understanding the nuances and context of both cultures.
It’s only natural to favor one over the other. But understanding the nuance and context would rid you of outright hate.
Back to my mango and avocado example.
You understand that mango is a citrus fruit. It contains vital vitamins. Its tree has a lot of leaves that fall and litter the ground, but they also serve as valuable manure.
Some mangoes might be too sweet, others too sour. Some might be ropey and leave threads on your teeth.
Good or bad. It’s what makes the mango a mango.
You might prefer the buttery feel of the avocado, But you’ll appreciate the mango still.
Without this understanding and nuance. A mixed child is a bomb waiting to explode.
Which is why mixing with invasive cultures, should be considered as treason.
Some cultures encourage balance. Others strive for dominance.
The dominion driven cultures do not seek to understand others. They simply raise their nose at anything outside themselves.
How do you know a culture is invasive?
- An invasive culture serves a supreme God: it considers its religion as supreme, everything else inferior.
- An invasive culture sees itself as the center of humanity. its culture is good, other cultures, babaric.
- An invasive culture invades others. takes their land, steals their resources.
- An invasive culture treats people outside of its culture as shit.
So imagine having a mixed child with one of these cultures.
It’s one thing to be different.
It’s another, to be ridiculed for it.
Imagine being around people who hate half of you. Everyday, you’re reminded that you would have being perfect, but half of you is in the way.
Mixed kids in these environments grow to detest half themselves.
They do everything in their power to prove themselves to the invasive half. they wanna show how different they are from the people of their “inferior” mix.
If the domineering culture says mangoes are fruits for pigs, the mixed child of mango and avocado says, mangoes should not exist.
And then they use their mango half, as a shield for their hate.
They become useful tools, because in truth, they are half mango, and you can’t take that from them.
Invasive cultures only value their mix as tools of espionage and sabotage.
Yes, spies and traitors exist, but a mixed child has the dna encoding, which when combined with deliberate effort, could lead to damning consequences.
Hypothetically speaking. Let’s say an invasive culture had real bad intentions.
Emphasis on REAL BAD INTENTIONS
Which they always do.
Before we continue, i wanna put out a disclaimer.
I’m not against Marrying outside your race and culture. I have nothing against mixed people.
This essay is for educational purposes only.
For the sake of this study, let’s assume an invasive culture wanted to take over a specific region in 300years. No bloodshed, they want it to happen in the most humane way possible.
All they have to do is incentivize their men to make babies with the women of said region.
If they’re the dominant and prosperous culture, the women will naturally gravitate towards their men, based on the allure of status alone.
They’ll birth mixed children who are eager to do their bidding.
YES.
The people of said region could be eager to please the dominant culture as well.
But no matter how much they try to be like the dominant culture, they’re still of different blood. They remain a different culture, and race.
Mixed kids are the hack.
They’re of that culture and region by blood. They might hate that half of themselves, but they get to vote, they can contest for office.
And most importantly, their children will be of that culture and region, regardless of who they choose to make babies with.
The first generation is half by blood, the second generation, a quarter.
The third, an eight.
Soon, all that’ll be left is their nationality, and stories about how their great-great grandparents were of that region.
Too late.
The original dna of the region is now a minority.
It’s culture, in a museum.
Soon, there will be books about the last pure blood.
To put it plainly, mixed kids are the key to a humane extinction plan.
I’ll leave you with this.
Your greatest enemies are your friends. Not because your friends are enemies, but by the virtue of access itself.
